Appearance|
Zarya will be a rather large cat. Coming from a Maine Coon mother, as an adult she is larger than almost all of the she-cat and the average-sized toms. She's broad-shouldered, and of an almost stocky build, coming from her domestic shorthair of a father. This she-cats fur is long and thick, and even thicker when her winter coat grows in. At it's base, a rich brown is her fur color, and she was born a brown tabby with thick black stripes and white on her chest, stomach and paws. Black also surrounded her right hind leg, ear-tip and tail-tip. Odd markings on her face stood out (as shown above), and a black dorsal stripe ran from the back of her head to the base of her tail. As she grew older, Mottled markings of cream, ginger and grey started showing up on her fur. She has several scars running across her body, but the only visible one is the nick in her ear. The rest are covered by her fur. {| fav.me/d2c9g3t | for those curious, her fur would look something like that irl}

Personality
Enthusiastic / Outgoing | Ditzy | Open-minded | Adventurous | Dertermined | Secretive | Scatterbrained | Paranoid | Dismissive

[ Enthusiastic / Outgoing| Eager to please, eager to succeed, eager to prove to everyone that her past doesn't need to be worried about. Zarya is always ready, waiting, hoping for some surprise or even something she expects. She wants to be able to prove to everyone that she can, in fact, be who they expect her to be, or even better. When a suggestion comes up for something, she'll be among the first to take it up or give her opinion on this. It can be a bit tiresome, really, her enthusiasm towards almost everything. In addition to this, Zarya likes to talk. A lot, She enjoys having conversations with other cats, though not so much arguments. She might not be the most opinionated of the batch, but she sure can talk a cats ears off, if they give her the chance. She still has trouble with sarcasm and lying and figurative language, but that doesn't stop her from talking, she just responds differently than most cats do. Though she tries her hardest not to talk over other cats, or interrupt them, it turns out that she sometimes does. She's a very friendly cat, sometimes a bit overly so, and she loves knowing every little thing about others. She's just as motivated to make them talk as she, herself is to talk, though she doesn't really know how to care about it really.

[ Ditzy | Because she's lived for over half her life in the clans now, Zarya is a bit more social aware than she was..She picks up on jokes, she knows what embarrasment is now, but things like scarcasm and several parts of figruative language still escape her. She doesn't much understand the point of lies, or sugar-coating the truth. No sparing other's feelings here, Zarya's as blunt as a piece of bread. She doesn't see any reason for lying, but has come to acept that maybe other cats do and tries to see around them, though she doesn't often succeed. She's air-headed and trusting, not always grasping the concept the first time which makes her seem a little dim-witted. And in the social aspect, Zarya is pretty dim-witted, but on things such as herblore she's rather intelligent. Gullible, Zarya will beleive anything you tell her-- to a point. She'll sometimes cross reference it, and she may occasionally be skeptic if she doesn't know a cat all that well or consider them a friend and it seems a bit far-fetched.

[ Open-Minded | One of Zarya's best traits is her readiness to accept anything that comes her way. She won't look at another cat and wonder why they're soul bonded, she doesn't judge cats at all, really, beyond the standard "I like you/ I don't like you" type of thing. This willingness to accept things, however, doesn't just mean a cat can present her with something. Zarya will question it, and voice her questions, until she's satisfied they've all been answered to the best of whomever she's questioning's ability, and then she form an opinion of it. Her open-minded aspect lies more in her readiness to change her opinion if some other fact is provided. This can be a bit tedious, though, as with every new tidbit of information, Zarya will most likely change her mind.

[ Adventurous | Adventure and Exploring absolutely entice Zarya. If you can't find her in her den or around camp, she's most likely out trying to discover parts of the territory she's not familiar with or learning things she's not to great at. She likes to try new things and have a fun time doing so, or just do things to say that she's done them. Not being the bravest cat out, she can sometimes chicken out or make sure that some other cats go with her, but none the less she likes going on them, and usually is willing to take the risks, since she's almost positive that all of them are worth it. Sometimes these adventures lead her to being in the wrong place at the wrong time, but that never stops her. In fact, She finds that almost as adventurous as the actual adventuring itself! Zarya is quite the adrenaline junkie. This tends to get her off task, when she finds the opportunity to go on an adventure, and can usually get her in trouble with someone.

[ Determined | To go along with her enthusiasm, Zarya is determined to accomplish whatever goal is set to her. It ca be as little as a task as grooming her fur or as complicated of one as moving a boulder up a hill, she will try with all her might and not give in until it's done. She doesn't ever give up, even when something may seem hopeless to others. If that boulder crushed her, she'd try again in the afterlife, or once she was all healed up. She'd not afraid to ask for help, as long as the task gets done, and boy will she ask and badger every living soul until it is.

[ Secretive | Zarya doesn't talk about her time before she found the tribe. Ever. It's just not something she likes to share, and why should she? She doesn't really see why it's anyone's business. It's not the only thing she's secret about, and she can be trusted with secrets readily because of this(so long as you tell her it's a secret and not to tell anyone, Otherwise ,it's fair game). Some may say secrets are nothing but lies, but that isn't true. Refusing to tell about your past because it's a secret doesn't make it a lie. Just a secret. This allows her to understand that others do have secrets to, and she doesn't pry when others don't want to talk. Her lips are as tight as glue, though, if any cat ever does try to spill. Her secrets give her a bit of a mysterious aura, with doesn't always bode well with cats.

[ Scatterbrained | While she is able to focus under dire circumstances, or when the Silver- or Yellow- light give her a task, the rest of the time Zarya's mind is likley to be bouncing from one topic to another. She doesn't necessarily forget as much as she moves on. There's always so much to focus on that her attention has a tendancy to waver after a bit. This doesn't mean that she won't focus on things, but the likely hood of that happening is small unless she's truly curious about something. It's entirely possible to bring her back to a topic once her mind wanders, but generally only breifly before it takes off again. Topics are generally only important to the orange-light at the moment, or if they're being/ they've been instilled by fear, or are instructions.

[ Paranoid | A more suppressed trait before, Zarya's paranoia has flared up being so close to the place she was raised. If cats say certain things or look at her a certain way or even match a general appearance that reminds her of her past, Zarya will get rather nervous. She has recurring nightmares of just being chased away by a cat who she knows is her father, and that only adds to her paranoia. This aspect comes and goes in waves, though, one moment she could be terrified because a sound gives her memories of his voice, and the enxt she could be bright and happy as normal, usually because the other cat will have reassured her, and she finds herself trusting them. She only has a really low-level of paranoia, meaning she's not going to be one who goes about and is frightened for no reason. She's more likely to be paranoid in the aspect that "Oh, hey, Caelum told me there are monsters in the water, now every time I near water I'm gonna be careful and hope no monster eats me," way. With the Caiman's around, this trait is only amplified- a slightest rustle in the bushes can make Zarya jump with fright.

[ Dismissive | You really need to stress something is important with this cat. She's not one to automatically worry about others, especially if they tell her that they're okay. Zarya is almost self-centered in this aspect, as she's not likley to think of others automatically. When she's focued on something, if someone is obviously upset, she may very well just ignore them- not purposley, but because she's so focused on something else she honest to goodness doesn't notice. If a cat is wanting to avoid something or hide something that's otherwise obvious, Zarya may not take note because she doesn't see why a cat would lie. Asking an obviously sad or upset cat "What's wrong" and getting the reply "nothing" will make Zarya drop the topic instantly, assuming she isn't focused on them. The only exception is when a cat is physically hurt to the point of awkward bone angles, infected and/or bleeding. At this point, they are likely to be the focus of her attention.

[Skeptical |As an orange light living in the tribes while there are Caiman's about, Zarya has learned to be very skeptical about some things. Though she doesn't really understand why cats would lie, she is now picking up on that they do and in all honesty kind of fancies herself a pretty god lie detector-- to a point. If a cat is limping around, she knows they are not fine whatever words come out of their mouths. It's not hard for her to tell the difference between a wound from thorns or claws from one from the teeth of caimans or falling, but when it comes to emotional, personal things, she still isn't the best. If, for instance, a cat seems ill but is not sick, she would be stumped, and have to accept their lie-- assuming they were lying about it. As such, her skepticism only goes so far - it's still very easy to trip Zarya up with a like that has a shred of evidence or convincing-ness to it. Best not to tell a lie that she's involved in though- she still doesn't see the point.

Backstory
Zarya's life before the tribe wasn't exactly a good one, but she never knew anything different back then. She was born to two cats who's name she never knew, and she hardly ever really saw them. Unlike so many others, she was not given a name at birth. From the moment she was weaned, which was rather early for cats, her parents were always watching but almost never seen. They were trying to teach her to survive on her own, but they did so in a harsh manner. She grew up mostly on her own, not knowing if she had any siblings or not, and only ever interacting with her parents. Her father would teach her to defend herself by attacking her himself, first without claws, but as she grew older, with them. Her mother instructed her on how to hunt, just a voice in the trees. She would hear both of their voices in the trees at night, telling her the stories of the tribes. Zarya loved to listen to these stories, and wondered if there really could be so many cats in the world. She thought it might seem crowded, with so many others like that, but at the same time, she thought it might be more fun.
It was then that Zarya got a habit of talking to herself, to make her feel less alone (though she didn't realize that was the cause at the time).
By the time she was about three moons old, her father started using his claws on her when they fought. By "started" it began randomly one day, she was unprepared, and wasn't sure of the cause. She was still only a kit, and while her father was not being harsh, it was a bit much to expect from her. She'd always assumed it was because he thought she was ready, but recently, Zarya's begun to think it may be because that was when her Tattoo showed up. She never noticed it, as she never really saw a reflection of herself. By the time she was four moons old, she'd already been knocked unconscious by her father at least a half dozen times. At that point, whenever she woke up, she'd find the numerous cuts her father had given her covered in various-smelling plants with a lingering smell of her mother.
While she saw her father various times, Zarya had only seen her mother once, while her mother was applying herbs to her wounds and hadn't yet realized her daughter was awake, and was shocked to see how graceful of a cat she was. That remains the only image of her mother that Zarya has.
As she reached her fifth moon, Zarya's parents gave her a name, Bandit. Zarya was proud of it, it was pretty and she'd earned it. She wore her name like a badge, though she didn't really meet any cats to show it off to. It didn't matter to her, it was the first thing she could actually call her own.
Not too long after that, though, Zarya realized she detested fighting. No matter how hard she tried, her father always beat her, and she was ending up unconscious almost every day now. She'd begun landing a few claw marks on her father himself a moon or so before, but it was never enough. So Zarya decided she'd stop fighting back.
It took her father a half-moon or so before he realized what was going on, and it enraged him. That day, he attacked her more furiously than before, and when she didn't do anything more than dodge as many blows as possible, he knocked her unconscious.
She never saw or heard form her parents after that.
Zarya wandered the land aimlessly, until she stumbled across a couple of tribe cats. Excited to find the cats that her parents had left in exile, it was without hesitation that Zarya accepted their offer to join them, and found herself content with life there.
Tribe life has proved quite the entertainment for Zarya! Apprenticed to the yellow-light, she's studied the ways of the healer but picked up the pasttime of wandering when she can. A chance meeting introduced her to another Light-Triber cat, one living in Air-Tribe who'd introduced herself to Zarya as Yvara. Things were seeming to go well, until the older cat brushed Zarya's ears with her paws, causing Zarya to panic - she'd not had contact with another cat since leaving her father- and lash out, giving the cat three scars on her foreleg and poisoning whatever friendship had started to blossom between them.
She was not, however, at a loss for friends. Zarya met several other cats, her outogoing personality finding friends in orange-earth Vendetta, Green-Air Seraphiel(Known to her as Ghost), green-earth Conan (Known to her as Art) and Green-air Ross. The feline even found a friend in fellow light-triber Caelum when visiting him as she and her mentor visited the tribes to give them aid. She studied well and learned a lot under the tutelage of Jazlyn, and was a her tattoo gained a bit of orange before the move.
It wasn't a hard move on Zarya, the winter air keeping her fresh and alert, even though the trek was a tiring one. She found herself nervous when crossing over to the Island where Water-Tribe had decided to establish itself, but the rolling bridge gave the she-cat a safe way to cross without having to attempt to swim.
When the news came around that Light-Tribe would have it's own camp, Zarya was prepared to leave. She didn't much mind leaving Water-Tribe behind, not having made any close friends in the tribe, but it was a little sorrowful for the she-cat to leave the first place she'd felt was a home.
That first night with Light-Tribe, Zarya's nightmares started. They plagued her when she slept, memories of her father, who lived in these territories, causing her stress that came out in such a form. Not too long after, Zarya took to taking short naps a few times a day rather than sleeping the night, preventing such terror.
Many adventures went underway as Zarya explored the territories. giving her rise to meet more cats such as the Orange-Air Maika, The Orange-Earth (Then a pink-Orange), Shasta, who quickly became one of Zarya's closest friends, and the orange-air Zenobia, along with furthering her friendship with Seraphiel on several occations, one of which in the spring where he taught her to swim. It was with sorrow that she received the news of the death of Ross, and it was with this news that she began to realize what caring for other cats truly meant.
She grew and prospered in the Tribes, her size surpassing the majority of the she-cats and even some of the toms in the tribes as her tattoo slowly turned completely orange.
The arrival of the Caimans was startling for the she-cat, and living with Earth-Tribe so close by has not much bothered her, though Light-Tribe territory has been feeling a little cramped. She enjoys the proximity of her two closest friends.

A Little Extra...
:bulletorange:Zarya doesn't react well to touch. It scares her, and she will probably lash out at someone who touches her. See Issues
:bulletorange: She has the tendency to babble.
:bulletorange: Zarya wishes she could fly
:bulletorange:Mice are her favorite thing to eat
:bulletorange:The new territory makes her a bit uncomfortable- she feels like her past is haunting her when she went to the tribes to escape it.
:bulletorange:She has constant nightmares
:bulletorange:Zarya lacks the mothering instinct that most she-cats have. Kit's don't give her a protective feeling, but rather a curious one- if she ever attends a birthing, she's most likely to think that a kit is dirt. She most likely won't treat a kit any differently than she would an adult cat.
:bulletorange:She ways 14 pounds (6.4 kilos)
:bulletorange:She stands at 14 inches tall.
:bulletorange:From nose to tail-tip, She is 36 inches long.
:bulletorange: Zarya is obsessessed with herbs.

Roleplay Example
From a roleplay between ~AngelShadowRena, ~HauntedMuck and I
[Pink-Orange-Light | Zarya | LT Bound]If her talking was getting awkward for the other cats, Zarya was as ignorant as a earthworm deep beneath her paws to the wing that rustled the tops of the trees. Ghost seemed plenty confident in his paw steps, making the mottled tabby more relaxed in the relief that his glowing bubble provided from the storm. And from what she could see, the den looked plenty big. Her black-tipped ears swiveled in the bubble to catch the earth-triber's words. Her green-eyed companion seemed nervous, she realized. More nervous than Zarya herself was. Should she be more nervous? The light-triber turned her grey eyes to her white-socked toes that seemed to blend with the snow that covered them as Ghost's tattoo faded and the bubble protecting them from the wind disappeared. She tensed up instantly as the tom moved forward, causing her already long and fluffy fur to spike out in an attempt to prevent the wind from cutting through it. Winter was nice, yes, but this weather almost made her miss the fall. In the fall, too some cat would probably have known where to go when the weather was this harsh! These new territories were fun to explore when it was nicer out, but they were strange when it became like this. Frightening, almost.
Ghost's words were muffled by the wind, but she caught the gist of them. Safe? That was good! Bounding eagerly after the tom, Zarya realized that her pace and size might not the the best inside, even if it was a big den. Her head bust into the shelter eagerly, already tired of the snowflakes swirling dizzily into her eyes. This seems big enough… If we're careful! She padded in after the other two cats, walking past Feli and towards the deepest part of the den before turning briefly and settling herself down, paws tucked neatly under her chest and tail pressed to her side. Mouse the smell caught her attention and Zarya briefly recalled seeing Ghost catch a startled one before entering, and now her grey eyes sought out it's small body. Ah, there. She wasn't really hungry yet, but depending on how long they'd be stuck here, the Pink-Orange light realized that catching the small creature had been a smart move on Ghost's part.
Her jaws were just about to open, ready to spew fourth a plethora of words with little focus whatsoever to them, when Feli's nod caught her attention. Oh? "I didn't join all that recently, no. But I'm not a tribe-born cat either; I moved with a group of cats to the old territories back at the end of Summer, when I was just a pink-light! I'm probably newer to most of these lands here than you are though, I never explored much of it back before joining the tribes. " The small rumble of laughter that escaped the earth-triber confused Zarya. Was something funny? Or was there a reason behind the growling?Or maybe it wasn't growling, but just the wind outside… The pink-Orange light couldn't tell, but she was not letting it get to her. Not here, in this confined den where one wrong movement could accidentally trigger her fear. This position was good though- it wasn't easy to get out of in face of immediate attack. "Like I mentioned earlier though, I haven't exactly been with the light-tribe cats for long, so I'm about in the same place as you with that! I think. When did you join Earth-Tribe? Was it just this season, or was it before, like me? And Ghost, Right?" She looked to the tom for confirmation, wondering if she had, in fact, discussed this before with him or if it was just a moment of her imagination flaring up.
Her imagination… Zarya doubted she'd be safe from her unconscious even in this den. Sleep might be worth it, but even if she could bring herself to fall asleep, Zarya knew it wouldn''t be long before the nightmares awoke her. they always did at night, and she doubted a change of location would make it any better. Ah, well, at least she'd have company and already be exploring this time around, right?
"M-My camp" Lost in thought for a moment, Feli's voice startled the light-triber for a breath before she regained her wits. "Light-tribe camp is nice. It's really open, and we have the lake on one side and the Council of Spirits on the other. Hmm. We're right in the middle of all the territories, so all cats can come to us when they're needed. We have these bush things that go around the in a round shape that are our dens and where we store herbs. There's a big empty area in the middle, too, where we can talk and stuff. Fisher's Outlook itsn't too far away from are camp either!" She mused. "I like our camp a lot. It'll smell really herb-y in the spring I bet, since that's when a lot of the herbs will start blooming! I don't mind it with the winter and the snow though, the ice makes the lake look really pretty! Or the waters of Ezrael. I'm not really sure what it's called; I just call it the lake all the time." The babble of words was nothing more than to be expected from the talkative she-cat, and she was pleased that it seemed like this pink-orange-earth would be able to carry on a conversation with her! It had ben harder with Ghost that first time they met. Grinning at the thought, her eyes turned to him. "But what it Air-Tribe camp like? I haven't been to this one yet!".
